Testimonials

Hi,

I am writing this e-mail to say a very very big thank you for allowing my wife Liz and myself the wonderful experience of contact with not only your Lemars but also the meercats too. We can only describe our time at Wetlands as a magical and very special time. I’m sure you must get lots of praise for the way you look after your charges and rightly so , all of the animals we saw, visited and fed were in excellent condition happy and ready to entertain with their antics. Can I also say a big thank you to your staff, we were welcomed as we arrived and were kept informed at all times. We along with the young lady who accompanied us round took lots of photos and videos, so we can re-live our time at Wetlands over and over, but we are sure that sometime in the not too distant future we will want to return and enjoy the pleasures of Wetlands again.

Thanks very much from us Both

I am a student from sandal magna school and I came on a school trip and I really enjoyed it. The animals’ cages were spacious and big. I enjoyed feeding the animals and all of them were well behaved. I enjoyed holding a barn owl and stroking Mela the meerkat and noodles the skunk. The play area was good but I think it needs something extra. I liked visiting wetlands and I intend on returning with my family and friends. I will recommend wetlands to anyone I see, and there was plenty of sinks around so after feeding the animals you could wash your hands. Once again I enjoyed the trip and intend on returning. Well done wetlands.

It was very cold the day we visited but the place is very well maintained. It is a circular walk and so is great for children (& adults) of all ages as can walk, toddle, push a buggy or wheelchair and still see everything. Bags of food for the animals are available at the cafe (everything from biscuits to toasties & hot chocolate) and the children in our (large group) expended a large amount of energy running around delivering to the animals. Its a great place Geographically too as its just off the A1 and we met with friends from Newark, Nottingham, Halifax etc. Will certainly visit again for this reason alone but also was a very enjoyable four/five hours despite the snow storms!

Hi Oliver here. I just want to thank you for having me for the day on 29th of May 2012. I had the best time ever thanks to Phil for helping me prepare all of the food for the animals and then going on to feed them. There was llamas, lemurs and meerkats and many more. I had the best 18th birthday ever. Hoping you are all well”

Hi, I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed visiting Wetlands in half term. We (myself, my daughter, 14 and two neices, 5 and 13) came on Groupon vouchers and I wasn’t sure what to expect but we had a fabulous time, so much so that my sister and husband want to come in the summer too.  I hope you don’t mind but I have left a review on trip adviser too…although didn’t know whether to ‘cos it will spoil it for me if you become a big and glossy impersonal animal park! Thank you again, and keep up the good work!

Hi there,

I came for the first time yesterday & I wanted to let you know that I had a lovely time with my family, it was a great experience & we left with big grins on our faces! – Feeding the larger animals was quite amusing, they are such characters! Alpacas in particular, but the deer were brilliant & Donkeys gorgeous! All in all such a variety & local too, something really special & made a nice change.

The meerkat with the keeper on show was fantastic & very memorable too.

On my way round a few animals seemed a little poorly & wanted to mention for reassurance that you knew (hope you don’t mind my mentioning it – as you are all doing a fab job!)

Visited Wetlands today, and had a really good day out. Would have liked to have had a meal in the cafe, but we were told drinks only were available, despite it being lunch time. Had a drink, but didn’t feel welcome! Despite this, would recommend the place, and many thanks to Jo, her friendliness and expert knowledge made our day! Mrs Sugden

Jo,

I am writing to say thank you so very much for a wonderful time at the park on Wednesday 15th February. My 5 year old daughter and I had a fantastic time doing the Meerkat Experience, it really was the highlight of our holidays and we both enjoyed it greatly. Meela really made the day being so tame, and letting Lana walk her – an amazing experience which we will never forget. Emily was very patient and kind with us all, it was great fun and a very positive experience in every way.
Many many thanks once again

Best wishes Carolyn

Hi, I’m writing on behalf of 30 extremely grateful year 1s and 2s. We were very lucky to have a visit from Ghost the barn owl, Tinx the kestrel and Phil today at Winthorpe School. As a teacher I would just like to say a huge thank you for bringing our learning about birds to life. The children really benefitted because all the work we had previously done was today in real life context! Phil, you kept the children thoroughly engaged throughout, it was very interactive, unique and a pleasure to invite you and your birds of prey in. So, from 30 children and the Staff ‘THANKYOU’ for a wonderful opportunity.
